DVD 1 * Sept. 30, 1972 — Henry Boy and Growin’ Up. First known video of Bruce Springsteen performing. This is Springsteen’s official debut gig as a contracted recording artist in the CBS stable. B&W video recorded by Max’s Kansas City at the request of Columbia Records, which wanted to create video footage for potential promotional use. Bruce is opening for folk-blues legend Dave Van Ronk. Mickey Ruskin introduces Bruce. * May 1, 1973 — Circus Song and Thunder Crack. Ahmanson Theater, Los Angeles. CBS Records Promo Brief snippets of Circus Song and Thundercrack were utilized in late 1973 by CBS as part of a promo-only video clip created to promote the newly released Wild & Innocent LP. * May 30, 1976 — Columbia Records promo of Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes from the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, N.J. Footage of Bruce Springsteen, Clarence Clemons, Steve Van Zandt, Max Weinberg, DJs Kid Leo and Ed Sciaky, Rolling Stone magazine writer Dave Marsh plus many more watching the Jukes. Great footage of the Asbury Park boardwalk from 1976! Look at all the rides and people! * July 6, 1978 — Bruce’s first known TV interview with J.J. Jackson of Channel 7 News in Los Angeles. Plus great footage of Bruce’s July 5, 1978 show from The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. July 8, 1978 — Pro shot footage of Born To Run, Badlands, Prove It All Night and Rosalita from Phoenix. All of this footage is just incredible. Rosalita is in another stratosphere, hot, hot, hot! This is the uncut version of Rosalita with the band intros (the one on the officially released video has this cut out). Numerous girls jump on the stage to kiss Bruce, and at the end a girl just wraps her arms around him and starts kissing away. I remember Bruce saying in an interview that “this girl started kissing me so hard, I thought she was going to suck out my tooth.” * Aug. 22, 1978 — TV interview with Joel Siegel of New York’s Channel 7 Eyewitness News during Bruce’s first headlining Madison Square Garden stand. Great interview, great footage of Bruce’s Aug. 21, 1978 show from the Garden. * Aug. 31, 1978 — Bruce, Clarence and Roy join Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at the Agora in Cleveland for The Fever, I Don't Want to Go Home and Having A Party. Steve Van Zandt played the entire show with the Jukes. Pro shot, awesome footage. Great footage from Bruce’s Sept. 19, 1978 concert at the Capital Theater in Passaic, NJ. Interesting interview too. Footage of Badlands, Spirit In The Night and Born To Run. DVD 2 * Dec. 11, 1980 -- "Sherry Darling," "Crush on You" and "Rosalita" from Bruce's show at the Providence Civic Center. Quality isn't perfect,but Bruce is so loose, so active, so exciting that you'll really enjoy watching this. He's wearing a hat and running all over the stage. * Dec. 31, 1980 -- Clips of "Midnight Hour," "Hungry Heart," "Cadillac Ranch" and "Sherry Darling" from the legendary New Year's Eve show at Nassau Coliseum. * June 14, 1981 -- Clips of Bruce singing "Hungry Heart" and "This Land Is Your Land" at Survival Sunday at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Also footage of Gary U.S. Bonds and Jackson Browne. * July 2, 1981 -- TV news reports from New York City of Bruce opening the Brendan Byrne Arena (now the Continental Airlines Arena) at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. Clips of Bruce performing "Born To Run" and interviews with fans. * June 12, 1982 -- Rally for Disarmament, Central Park, New York City. Bruce performs "Promised Land" with Jackson Browne. * June 1984 -- White men can't dance! Bruce rehearses his "Dancing in the Dark" dance at his home with Clarence. Bruce does several takes as he's being videotaped and jokes around on camera. He even takes a call from his father. Awesome behind-the-scenes footage. * Oct. 15, 1984 -- "Detroit Medley" from Vancouver. The crowd is really into it as Bruce brings them to another level during the encores. * Nov. 15, 1984 -- TV news report from St. Louis of Bruce's show. Footage of Bruce singing "Born In the USA" shot up close by the TV crew. * Oct. 2, 1985. Clips from the final show of the "Born In the USA" tour at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Bruce thanks the crowd for "making it the best year of my life." Includes snippets of "I'm Going Down," "My Hometown" and "Ramrod." The final song is "Glory Days" and Bruce is very emotional closing out the song and the tour. Bruce's sister Pam joins Patti in singing backup vocals and Jon Landau is on guitar. Jim the Dancing Bear, the Gypsy Woman fortune teller, the doctor, and the Dancing Trees also join the fun on stage. A very, very special moment as Bruce finishes this tour on top of the world.
